How can I be involved?

Come to one of our meetings. We meet every Wednesday evening. We work on different projects throughout the year. We are certain you will feel the warmth and excitement about serving others as we do. We are a group of dynamic, fun-loving, caring women who want to make a difference. We invite you to join us and welcome what you can bring to make a difference.

Are there membership fees?

Yes, we ask each member to donate $10-15 per month. These fees help us to run the organization by providing for postage, letterhead, etc. But most of the funds go directly to helping others by being able to purchase needed items for the organizations we support. Our expenses are kept in a log that is open for all members to view and review. No money is used for anything unessential to the organization. For example, when we have a party none of the funds is used for any portion of the cost of a party.

Kickoff and Orientation

We hold a quarterly WoMAD Kickoff to showcase our organization. This allows people who want to know more about our organization to do so. It allows the people we have been telling about WoMAD to come and meet us and find out what we are all about. It also gives them a chance to become a member of WoMAD. Orientation follows Kickoff to orient our new members to the organization and allow all members, new and old, to meet and get acquainted.

Leadership Positions

If you would like to dedicate more time and have special skills, we would like you to help us in a leadership position. These positions require a little more time than our general meetings and projects require, mostly we need people who are willing to put forth a good effort and be responsible for assignments. If you have any experience with fund raising, writing grants, writing newsletters, etc we could definitely use your expertise. If you don't have these experiences, that is ok. If you are willing to try, then so are we. Let us know if you are interested.
